FAQs

Your Questions, Answered

Finding the right care starts with having the right information. We’ve answered the most common questions about our gynecology-focused model, menopause certification, and what to expect during your visit with Dr. Green.

What does "Gynecology-Focused" mean for my appointment?

It means our schedule is dedicated entirely to gynecologic health; your appointments are never delayed or cancelled due to labor and delivery emergencies.

What is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP)?

It is a professional credential awarded to clinicians who have demonstrated specialized knowledge in menopause management and evidence-based hormone therapy.

I've been waiting to talk about hormone therapy. Can I talk about this during my first visit?

Yes. Due to our dedication to accept insurance, we will be happy to offer evaluation and management regarding hormone therapy at your first visit, however, we will then schedule a separate gynecologic visit for routine or problem-focused care including a pap smear or breast/pelvic exam if needed. While we understand that it may seem that hormone therapy should be a part of preventative healthcare, we appreciate your understanding that insurance plans vary in this
coverage.

What should I bring to a surgical consultation?

For hysterectomy or minimally invasive surgery consultations, please bring any relevant imaging or prior medical records to help us create your plan.

Why choose a "Gynecology-Only" practice?

Our menopause or other GYN health conversations are focused on you.
While Dr. Green has enjoyed her 16-year career in OB and GYN feeling
extremely privileged to deliver her patients, she is proud to offer a
dedicated space for the gynecology-only care she strongly believes
patients have been searching for in the Kansas City Metro.

What is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP)?

This certification signifies that Dr. Green has passed a rigorous examination and maintains specialized, evidence-based knowledge in the management of perimenopause and menopause.

What surgical options do you consult on?

Dr. Green operates using minimally invasive gynecologic surgery techniques such as for vaginal (VNOTES) and robotic laparoscopic hysterectomy, the management of uterine fibroids, surgical sterilization, hysteroscopy, management of ovarian cysts, vulvar or other vaginal and pelvic conditions.

Does Queen Bee Gynecology accept insurance?

Yes, check back on our website for insurance we accept and you may also confirm with your health insurance carrier.

Is there a membership fee?

No, Dr. Green does not charge a membership fee.

What are menopause/perimenopause group visits like? Can I bring a friend?

Group visits are a good opportunity to familiarize yourself with our clinic, meet others through their journey in these next phases of life, and get started on your treatment planning. These visits are also treated as an appointment and your insurance may apply. And, yes, we encourage you to bring a friend!
